What is worship?

Church campus? Stage lights? Instruments? Vocalists? Music? Soft, padded prayer with a worship leader? Altar call?

While all of these things can play a part, worship is something so much more. Personal. Central. Beautiful. 

Worship is the face of our heart turned toward our Lord. 

It is the face of our heart beholding Him—His power and majesty. Admiring His splendor and beauty. Receiving His outpour of graces and praising His infinite mercies. 

This week we see a remarkable act of worship. 

It is costly. It is beautiful. It is deeply personal. It gives us pause and prompts us to ask, “how do I worship Jesus? How does the perfume of my life surround Him with praise?”
